FireGirl by Taryn A. Taylor

FireGirl by Taryn A. Taylor
I'm so excited to give you a review of a book by my dear friend, Taryn. She is an Indie author, like me, and together we are blazing our way through the new territory of self publishing. Get it--blaze? Anyway, you are going to like this one!

FireGirl is LDS fiction that feels mainstream.

At first I was not sure if I would like Maddie. She starts off so broken and mad at everyone and everything. But as I read, Maddie grew on me until I was rooting for her to accept herself and her life as it is.

I love Grace, the friend who eventually teaches Maddie to love herself and that she can be loved, no matter her past. Grace and Maddie need each other, and their friendship is tender and poignant.

There are two guys in this book, one is Maddie's cousin, and the other a love interest. How refreshing to have two guys for me, the reader, to fall in love with, without the typical love triangle.

At times I was frustrated when Maddie would draw into herself and talk about the secret that she keeps, speaking often of "that night". I wish I would have known the secret sooner so that I could relate more to Maddie's emotions and actions in the second half of the book.

The characters felt real and the emotions authentic.

If you are looking for a clean romance with authentic emotion, don't miss out on this one!

You can purchase FireGirl on Amazon.
